Mauritian women formed South-East Ladies Agro collective to produce organic farming after oil spill ruined their fishing industry.
In 2020, MV Wakashio spilled 1,000 tons of fuel oil into protected coastal waters destroying coral reefs and mangroves, marine life, and ended generations of fishing traditions.
